Precisely in line with the artistic-educational synergy of the Theater, the first great show contemplated for the year will be Pedrito and the Wolf, an own production that gives a fresh and contemporary look to the traditional work of S. Prokofiev. The version was created by choreographer Esdras Hernández and the company La Llave Maestra, and includes music, dance, theater and contemporary themes such as bullying, integration and collective judgment.

“Our 2020 season reflects a constant search to encourage creativity, reflection and innovation in the arts. Great artists such as Vladimir Ashkenazy or Marianela Núñez, as well as the new promise of the lyrical world, Pretty Yende, come to our stage to inspire new generations The shows that are presented within the framework of our 10 years combine various artistic expressions and revisit traditional formats for an increasingly eager audience of novel experiences, such as Vertikal, from the French company Käfig, which combines aerial dance , hip hop language and circus techniques, or Sleeping Beauty, whose avant-garde costume breaks with the classical codes of the ballet genre, “said Véronique Mondini, head of artistic projects at Teatro del Lago.

Vladimir Ashkenazy, a true legend of classical music, will be the first international visit of 2020 at Teatro del Lago. The famous Russian conductor and pianist arrives in April to lead the International Academy of the Holy Week Orchestra, a project for the improvement of young musicians from Chile and the world. The concert program, in addition to compositions by Lv Beethoven and PI Tchaikovsky, ends with the Clarinet Concert WA Mozart, performed by the prominent musician, Dimitri Ashkenazy.

Together with other works by PI Tchaikovsky, Sleeping Beauty is one of the most spectacular and representative ballets of the universal repertoire. This time, he will arrive at Teatro del Lago with the star of the Royal Ballet of London, Marianela Núñez, as the protagonist, accompanied by the Sodre National Ballet directed by Igor Yedra. This is an innovative version that revisits this classic through a rupturist costume proposal, designed by the Spanish Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada. The designer worked hard on color, volume and textures for this project that she has described as one of the best experiences of her life. The work, which premiered in Uruguay in 2018, will be presented between August 7 and 9.
