OLA and ROH Masterclasses are already underway in Latin America
On May 8, the tour began in which the artistic director of the Jette Parker program for young people of the Royal Opera House David Gowland and André Heller Lopes, artistic director of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro – and former student of the program, visit 4 cities of Latinamerica.
.
This exploratory tour seeks to meet young Latin American singers and repeaters to learn more about their first steps in the field and the training that these young artists receive.
.
At the same time, and as a form of exchange, this visit includes auditions to participate in master classes for singers and repeaters, in cities of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Chile.
.
Rio de Janeiro was the first stop and the host was the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, where more than 50 applications from all over Brazil arrived. The Colon Theater in Buenos Aires was the next stop where David Gowland and André Heller listened to almost 40 singers from Mexico, Venezuela, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru and of course, Argentina.
.
Tomorrow they fly to Chile where in the Santiago Municipal they will continue these auditions and master classes, which are a first approach between the prestigious Jette Parker program for young artists, which is part of the Royal Opera House and the theaters of the Opera Latin America network.
.
The last stop will be Bogotá Colombia, where the host is the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo. Each visit ends with a question and answer session open to all interested parties, where David Gowland and André Heller will answer questions about the Jette Parker program and share their experiences as coaches and teachers of young artists in Europe.
