Four opera titles at 2019 lyric season of Teatro Solís

Die Zauberflöte, a lyrical concert by the mezzosoprano Nancy Fabiola Herrera, Rigoletto and the zarzuela La revoltosa are the titles presented by the Solís Theater in Montevideo from August to December.

The Philharmonic Orchestra, the Montevide Symphonic Band andthe National Comedy will be the cast in charge of a season that promises to fill thewith emotion Teatro Solís.

Die Zauberflöte will open the lyrical year, on Wednesday 14, Friday 16 and Sunday 18 August, under the musical direction of Ligia Amadio at the head of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Montevideo and the stage direction of the Italian Zamira Pasceri.

On Tuesday, August 27, the mezzosoprano Nancy Fabiola Herrera sand perform at the main stage of the Solis theater to give a recital of opera and operetta.

The Orchestra will also give music to Rigoletto, who will arrive on Friday the 13th, Sunday 15th and Tuesday 17th of September under the musical direction of Martín Jorge and the stage direction of the Brazilian Jorge Takla.
The lyrical year of the Teatro Solis will be closed by La revoltosa, by Ruperto Chapí, on Wednesday 18, Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Saturday 21 December. It will feature the stage direction of the Spanish Amelia Ochandiano; will be the Symphonic Band of Montevideo, with Martin Jorge at the helm, the cast charge of giving music this work, and will be here where Naciona Comedyl will join the season at the hands of Claudia Rossi, Luis Martinez and Daniel Espino Lara.

The launch was attended by the director of the Department of Culture, Ramiro Pallares; the director of the Cultural Promotion Division, Jorge Navratil; the director of the Teatro Solís, Daniela Bouret; and the principal conductor of the Montevideo Symphonic Band, Martín Jorge, who was in charge of presenting all the shows that will be presented during this season.

Ramiro Pallares stressed that “in the programming of the opera for this year is reflected the line of work” developed by the Department of Culture from its Cultural Promotion Division, work with which seeks to be in “permanent contact with people and their pleasures”.

A new rehearsal room

The director of the Cultural Promotion division, Jorge Navratil, highlighted the team work carried out by the cast and the Solís Theater and announced that the facilities on the second floor of the theater located on Juncal Street will soon be dedicated to integrate “a new testing room”.

Advance sale begins

The presale of subscriptions and the exclusive presale for Banco República customers began on Tuesday, June 4 and runs through Monday, June 10, at thebox office Teatro Solís; since then the general advance sale will start for all the titles of the season, with tickets ranging from $ 250 to $ 1,600. In the commitment to invite to know this genre and build new audiences among young people, locations were created at Youth Price, for people up to 29 years old, with a 50% discount.

The season tickets, meanwhile, offer to enjoy the season with a 30% discount.
