Samuel Barber’s opera A Hand of Bridge is the work chosen for this initiative that mixes digital animation and stop motion. The artists, member of Escena Digital Karolyn Rosero and Christian Correa will participate in the cast of the production that will be available for free on YouTube.

Ópera Nova has recently released an animated short film about Samuel Barber‘s opera A Hand of Bridge, combining music and animation techniques in stop motion and digital to bring the stories of Sally, Bill, Geraldine and David to life.

The artists of Escena Digital platform Karolyn Rosero and Christian Correa will give voice to the characters of Geraldine and Bill, respectively.

The initiative arises from the need to create alternatives to make opera in a pandemic environment and from the obligation as artists to be at the forefront with the technologies, audiovisual resources and digital media that are available today.

This project could be carried out thanks to the support of the District Stimulus offered by the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra: the Opera, Zarzuela and Operetta Grant, of which Opera Nova was one of the winners.
