Tartufo is one of the richest characters (even ambiguous) in the entire history of the theater. In the play, a war killer is benevolently sentenced to three years of house arrest in a town that bears no resemblance to his hometown. The text exposes us to how ambiguous the division between victims and victimizers can be, and the narrow line that exists between revenge and forgiveness. The story of always told like never before.
