In an unprecedented virtual show, the opera shines again at the Municipal de Santiago together with prominent national singers

This Friday, September 10 at 8:00 p.m., the Theater will present the second part of the lyrical gala Divas y Villanos, a dramatized concert in which a group of renowned Chilean artists will tour with their voices iconic opera characters and the most famous composers of the lyrical world.

 

The invited singers are the sopranos Patricia Cifuentes, Paulina González and Andrea Aguilar, the mezzo-soprano Evelyn Ramírez, the tenor Leonardo Navarro, the baritone Patricio Sabaté, and the bass-baritones Sergio Gallardo and Homero Pérez-Miranda, who will perform works by composers such as G Bizet, G. Donizetti, G. Verdi, WA Mozart, and G. Puccini.

 

Opera returns to the Municipal Theater of Santiago. And it does so with the premiere of a novel scenic and audiovisual proposal starring prominent national lyrical singers. This Friday, September 10 at 8:00 p.m., the main hall of the Theater will be the epicenter of the opera with the presentation of the second part of the lyrical gala Divas y Villanos on the Municipal Delivery digital platform, a dramatized show in the format of concert that invites you to discover and reconnect with memorable musical pieces and iconic opera characters composed by WA Mozart, G. Verdi, G. Puccini, U. Giordano and F. Lehár.

 

There are eight Chilean voices that can be heard in this show: those of the sopranos Patricia Cifuentes, Paulina González and Andrea Aguilar, the mezzo-soprano Evelyn Ramírez, the tenor Leonardo Navarro, the baritone Patricio Sabaté, and the bass-baritones Sergio Gallardo and Homero Pérez-Miranda, who will be accompanied musically by the pianist Jorge Hevia -who is also the musical director- while the actor Alonso Torres will narrate details of the works. Meanwhile, the lighting of the show is in charge of Ricardo Castro.

Arias, duos, trios and quartets from works such as Carmen, by G. Bizet; Don Pasquale, by G. Donizetti; Rigoletto, by G. Verdi; Così fan tutte, by W. A. ​​Mozart; and Tosca. by G. Puccini will be heard in this unprecedented show, which from its program, staging and format also seeks to evoke the multiple transformations that opera has undergone since its birth in Italy, in the passage from the 16th to the 17th century.

 

The first part of the lyrical gala, premiered last Friday, September 3, will remain available for two weeks on the Municipal Delivery digital platform. Tickets are purchased through the website www.municipal.cl.
