#ElColónEnCasa: Check out the digital season of Teatro Colón of Bogotá

Emblematic productions of  Teatro Colón de Bogota will be available digitally and free of charge for those passionate about the performing arts, in the months of March, April and May.

 

 

With the intention of inviting Colombians to stay home and continue with a varied program, Teatro Colón will offer opera, theatre, music and children’s entertainment titles through its social networks, the channel. YouTube and its website www.teatrocolon.gov.co, on each date the shows will be broadcast free for a whole day. Broadcasts are Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. on the first day until midnight on Sunday.

From now on, and for the next three months, the radio drama El perro del hortelano, will be available, which in alliance with Radio Nacional presents the classic by Lope de Vega, with the performance of Kepa Amuchastegui, Consuelo Luzardo and César Mora.

PAST TRANSMISSIONS

Woyzeck written by Georg Büchner in 1836 and directed in its Colombian version by Jimmy Rangel. This production presents a majestic staging of physical theater on water, starring Carolina Ramírez and Felipe Botero. It is a constant game between reality and fiction, a dispute between the horror of war and the fragility of humanity.

 

To celebrate the month of the boys and girls, arrive “The Light Princess”, an air show, theatre and giant puppets for the whole family, an adaptation of the story “The Light Princess” by George Mac Donald . Written by María Adelaida Palacio and Felipe Botero, under the direction of Milena Forero, the staging is conceived as a great illustrated book.

 

The master of all things‘, a multimedia show for the whole family combining illustrations and animations with a unique staging, and live music from the Burning Caravan, nominated band at Latin Grammy last year.

 

Giuseppe Verdi’s opera will arrive Macbeth, under the musical direction of the Italian Pietro Rizzo, the stage direction of the Spanish Ignacio García, in a montage that houses a cast of national and international interpreters such as the Bulgarian baritone Vladimir Stoyanov in the role of Macbeth, the Swiss soprano Dimitra Theodossiu as Lady Macbeth, Colombian bass baritone Valeriano Lanchas playing Banquo and Spanish tenor Sergio Escobar, with the participation of Colombian National Symphony Orchestra.

 

Macbeth, the tragedy, the Shakespeare classic adapted by Joe Broderick, which comes with a novel staging with punk aesthetic. It is a work co-produced by Teatro Colón and the resident Company under the direction of Pedro Salazar, it has a fluid narration, it delves into the demons that generation after generation have persecuted man in his quest for power.
