#OLAenTuCasa: Don’t miss the digital seasons in Latin America

Iconic shows of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Municipal de Santiago, Teatro Mayor in Bogotá, Auditorio Nacional del Sodre, Gran Teatro Nacional of Perú, among others, can be enjoyed for free.


Twelve Latin American theaters will broadcast a diverse billboard of shows thanks to a joint collaborative effort. The productions may be enjoyed, regardless of the place of origin of the production. The billboard is being shared collaboratively to the viewers of the theaters of the network, thus reaching more than 1 million viewers throughout the Region.

Ojo de agua, Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo. This project brings together the music of Toto La Momposiná, the music of the group Bahía and Lucho Bermúdez with his orchestra. It can be seen at the Digital Theater from March 26 at 8:00 p.m. until April 2.

The barber of Seville, Municipal de Santiago. This buffa opera by Gioacchino Rossini is one of the last classical operas that, at the same time, opens the doors to bel canto. The sparkling score is starred by a talented cast of guest artists, the Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra and the Santiago Municipal Choir, under the direction of José Miguel Pérez-Sierra. Available on the theater site from Friday, March 27 to Friday, April 3.

The Animal Carnival, Teatro del Lago of Frutillar. New proposal made in November 2018 by Teatro del Lago, which combines orchestral music and 2D animation. The work, one of the most famous by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns, is performed by the Camerata and the Piccolo Orchestra of the School of the Arts. Available from March 28 to April 04.

20:00 Papelucho at the opera, Municipal de Santiago. Papelucho was born from Marcela Paz’s typewriter, a little eight-year-old with a great imagination and a very sensitive heart, who came up with great ideas with which he avoided getting bored. The actress and theater director María Izquierdo together with the composer Sebastián Errázuriz, through this opera, introduce us to the life diary of this Chilean boy who has become a classic of children’s literature. 20:00 The Swan Lake, Municipal de Santiago. Released in 2009 by the Royal Ballet of Flanders, Marcia Haydée’s Swan Lake –and the music of Piotr I. Tchaikovski– gives a novel reading to the history that has captivated the entire world. Starring the Santiago Ballet, with the special participation of the national dancer César Morales – Birmingham Royal Ballet’s first dancer -, and the Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra. The broadcast will be available from April 03 to 10 on the theater site.

17:00 La Cantata de Los Oficios, Teatro del Lago of Frutillar. work specially commissioned by Teatro del Lago and the Ibáñez Atkinson Foundation from the national composer Sebastián Errázuriz, as part of the program You Can Sing. Performed and premiered on October 18, 2018 in Tronador space, by more than 300 children from 17 choirs in southern Chile, the Cantata addresses the tasks that were important for the development of the Llanquihue Lake Basin. 20:00 The Passion according to San Mateo. Symphonic-choral concert with the stellar participation of the National Symphony Orchestra and the National Choir of Peru. As a guest will be the Canadian director Julian Kuerti, who will offer an exclusive gala to the famous German composer Johann Sebastian Bach, main representative of the Baroque period. “The passion, according to San Mateo” (1729) is considered the most important religious work in musical history for its high poetic creation and sensitivity. 17:30 The Messiah, by Georg Friedrich Händel. It is the best known and interpreted oratorio of all time. This monumental work will feature the participation of the National Children’s Choir, the Men’s Ensemble of the National Choir and the Bicentennial National Youth Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Luis Chumpitazi along with outstanding soloists such as Claudia Espinoza (soprano), Lucero Zevallos (soprano), Rosángela Merino (Contralto), Juan Pablo Marcos (Tenor) and Luis Sarmiento (Bass). 17:30 L’elisir d’Amore, Donizetti. It is a buff opera in two acts with music by Gaetano Donizetti and a libretto in Italian by Felice Romani. L’elisir d’Amore is one of the most frequently performed operas of all Donizetti’s and there are a number of recordings. The best known musical number of the opera is the aria A furtive tear.
