This production of L’elisir d’amore of the Ópera de Tenerife is a giocoso melodramma by Gaetano Donizetti and libretto by Felice Romani, based on the text Le philtre de Eugène Scribe for the opera by Daniel François Esprit Auber. One of the composer’s most acclaimed opera buffs, thanks to unforgettable melodies such as ‘A furtive tear’ and an effervescent plot that tells us the loves of the beautiful Adina and the illustrious Nemorino. The work was premiered at the Teatro della Canobbiana in Milan on May 12, 1832.
Opera (e) Studio is the academy of high specialization for artists of Ópera de Tenerife, which since 2012 has Giulio Zappa as artistic director. This project was born with the objective of forming in all the disciplines of the operatic genre a quarry of artists that meets the demands of the current labor market. Since last September, the selected artists are in Tenerife working multiple aspects, from the various techniques of musical and scenic interpretation to the style, diction, body expression or dramaturgy that are interspersed with the essays to the professional rhyme that marks a theater: costume tests, makeup and rehearsal with the orchestra.
