The main objective of the UNAM General Directorate of Music (DGM) is to promote musical experiences for the benefit and upliftment of the university community and society at large. It includes national and international programming of symphonic, chamber, electronic, multimedia, and other genres. A fundamental aspect of its vocation is to promote the work of the UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra (OFUNAM), the scholarship projects of the Eduardo Mata University Youth Orchestra (OJUEM) and the Academy of Early Music (AMA), as well as the activities of the UNAM Music Composition Workshop.
