OLA Digital Forums 2025: From Education and Fundraising to Sustainability and Communications

Foros Digitales OLA 2025 web

During the second half of 2025, Ópera Latinoamérica (OLA) will host five digital forums aimed at responding to the needs identified by member institutions and continuing the work initiated during the 18th Annual Conference of Ópera Latinoamérica (OLA), held at the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, Spain.

The OLA Digital Forums are a platform for connection, training, and network strengthening. Through the exchange of experience and the participation of expert speakers, these sessions aim to support professionals from OLA member theatres in tackling current challenges, promoting best practices, and encouraging collaboration across the sector.

Below is the programme of forums scheduled for the second half of 2025:

Education
Thursday, 4 September – 12:00 (GMT-4)

The Education Forum has been running for over four years. This session invites professionals in the field to connect and share experiences and challenges relating to audience development, co-creation projects, mediation and more.

Education (RESEO)
Thursday, 2 October – 12:00 (GMT-4)

This session marks the beginning of a collaboration with RESEO, the European network dedicated to education, engagement and social transformation through opera, music and dance. OLA has an existing cooperation agreement with RESEO to strengthen the education departments of member theatres. In this first exploratory session, we will get to know some of RESEO’s members and learn more about the network’s work, while also sharing educational projects from Ibero-America.

Sustainability
Thursday, 6 November – 12:00 (GMT-4)

During OLA’s 18th Annual Conference, the Sustainability Forum was launched with the goal of supporting OLA theatres in implementing environmental sustainability strategies. In this session, Raquel Castells — coordinator of the Theatre Green Book implementation at Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao — will continue the presentation she delivered in Valencia, delving deeper into the practical aspects of this hands-on guide.

Fundraising
Thursday, 4 December – 12:00 (GMT-4)

Findings from the most recent OLA member survey revealed that fundraising is one of the top areas of interest among theatres. For this reason, the forum will feature a guest expert (to be confirmed), who will provide key tools and insights to strengthen resource mobilisation strategies within institutions.

Communication, Marketing and New Technologies
8 January

We will begin 2026 with a forum focused on communication, marketing, and new technologies. A guest speaker (to be confirmed) will explore these topics, offering up-to-date mechanisms and practical strategies for implementation within OLA member institutions.
