Abstract: The Teatro Colón, was created in 1857. In 1888 it was closed for the construction of a new hall which was inaugurated on May 25, 1908 with a function of Aida. From 1925 he had his own stable bodies – Orchestra, Ballet and Choir – and his own production workshops, which allowed him to organize his own seasons financed by the city budget. Since then, it has been defined as a seasonal theater or stagione with the capacity to carry out the entire production thanks to the professionalism of its stage equipment. As of 2010, the Teatro Colón exhibits a restored building in all its original splendor and is a pride of Argentine culture and a center of reference for opera, dance and academic music throughout the world. his current program can be seen at www.teatrocolon.org.ar
