Estreno de Falstaff coincide con el X Encuentro OLA

In co-production with the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo, Ópera de Colombia presents the national premiere of Falstaff, the last opera by Giuseppe Verdi with the debut of Valeriano Lanchas as Falstaff and a Latin American cast, premiere that coincides with the tenth Anniversary of Ópera Latinamérica, which is held for the first time in Colombia.

The opera will be under the Scenic Direction of the Argentine Alejandro Chacón; Adán Martínez from Uruguay in charge of the Costume and Characterization. The musical direction is in charge of the Chilean Rodolfo Fischer; the Spanish Sergio Loro is in charge of the Set Design; and the Lighting Design by Jheison Castillo de Colombia.
The performances will take place on September 26, 28 and 30 at 8:00 pm at Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogotá.

Falstaff, Verdi’s only comedy with “Un giorno di regno”, his second opera, is the testament of an octogenarian Verdi, based on William Shakespeare’s Merry Wives of Windsor. Verdi says goodbye reminding us that “everything in the world is mockery.”
