VERSION IN CONCERT
L’incoronazione di Poppea was the first opera to leave the palaces of the Italian aristocracy to perform in a public theater. It turned out to be innovative in moving away from mythological arguments and using a historical episode. From his inaugural performance in Venice, he positioned Monteverdi as the most outstanding composer of the time, by redefining the limits of theatrical music thanks to a score in which it is not so much about characters that embody emotional states, as of perceiving and to hear how these emotions manifest and evolve, move us and incite us to penetrate the baroque world.
