Opera Europa supports OLA in its internationalization

Following the internationalization process of OLA, an important agreement was signed between OLA and its European counterpart, Opera Europe, during the last conference of Opera Europe “Cultural diplomacy or Art that unites” between 18th and 20th May in Kiev, Ukrania. The agreement contemplates a joint work that benefits and sustains the labor of advance and promote lyrical development in both regions.

The recently signed agreement includes information sharing and an annual plan created by both organizations that allows for an exchange between Latin American and European theaters, as well as generating greater mobility and exchange of knowledge between the local and professional talents of the opera of the old continent and Latin America.

Opera Europe is the leading service organization for professional opera companies and opera festivals throughout Europe. It currently has 170 members from 43 different countries. The main objectives of Opera Europe are: to ensure the promotion and development of opera in all its forms in Europe, the collection of practical information on the life of European opera houses and their characteristics, among others.

Opera Latin America, on the other hand, works in the regional lyrical development supporting its network of members that reaches 20 theatres from Latin America and Spain through conferences, advisory services and development programs for young people. At the moment OLA is in a process of professionalization and institutional development in which the contribution and support of Opera Europe in this work its essential by all the experience that can contribute.
