OLA will be present at New Works Forum

Between January 11 and 14, 2017, the New Work Forum will be held at the National Opera Center in New York, an important annual meeting that brings together composers, librettists, designers and producers to discuss and discuss the creation and production of new operas, as well as in representations of recent works. This valuable instance, organized by Opera America, not only brings together professionals from the United States, but also considers representatives from other latitudes, such as Opera Europa.

And Opera Latin America will also be present in this instance, as the CEO of Opera America, Marc Scorca, invited OLA executives to attend, to be able to talk and share information from both organizations, seeking to strengthen ties and evaluate possible collaborations together with future.

In another area and now in our region, another important activity in which representatives of the organization participated, was the Meeting with the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), within the framework of the Market of Cultural Industries of the South, MICSUR, which took place between October 17 and 20 in Bogotá, Colombia. On the occasion, OLA executives held interesting meetings and conversations seeking to generate alliances and collaborative agreements that can be implemented in Latin America, giving life to projects that promote the dissemination, promotion and circulation of performing arts in the region.

In this meeting with the SEGIB, by OLA participated its president Darío Lopérfido, the second vice president Ramiro Osorio, and the executive director of the organization, Alejandra Marti, accompanied by the general director of the Municipal of Santiago, Frédéric Chambert. They all met with Rebeca Grynspan, Ibero-American Secretary General, and her team.
