OLA celebrates its 10 years in Bogotá

With the co-organization of the Colombian Ministry of Culture, Teatro Colónn de Bogotá and Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo, Opera Latinoamérica will hold an especial annual meeting between September 25 and 27.

The preparations for the Annual General Meeting of Opera Latinoamérica will be held between the 25th and 27th September. Opportunity that brings together directors and representatives of the most important theatres in the region and Spain, as well as international guests from the United States and Europe to discuss issues concerning the development of lyrical genre and of the theatres members of the network.

The agenda for this meeting includes topics such as: Creative Industries in the development of the performing arts, which will be accompanied by several representatives of governments of the Pacific alliance; it will also be the time to present details regarding the collaboration agreements signed with important international organizations like Opera Europe; In addition to the topics that are normally worked such as Streaming and digital development; Programs for audience development and Co-productions.

This meeting also marks the tenth anniversary of the organization which is in the process of institutionalization and growth. On this matter, it has already been established that the headquarters of OLA will be Santiago de Chile.

On this occasion the host will be the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo, who next to the Teatro Colón de Bogotá and with participation in the organization of the Colombian Ministry of Culture, expect to receive guests from Europe, the United States and Latin America. Among the activities that will take place during these 3 days, is the premiere of Verdi’s opera Falstaff at the Teatro Mayor. A co-production with the Opera de Colombia.
