Eight lyrical titles make up the 2019-2020 Season of Ópera de Tenerife
A volcano of emotions, is the title of the new season of the Opera of Tenerife. Between the bets they are L’elisir d’amore of the Opera (e) Studio, Rinaldo in a production of the Opera in Family and a new tour of the Traviata of the program Opera Pocket.
Ópera de Tenerife opens the season 2019 – 2020 with a programming of titles that runs between ‘the innocence of love’ and ‘the corruption of power’ under the signature of great composers such as Donizetti, Verdi or Handel, but where there is room, too, for more avant-garde authors such as Ullmann and Krenek, extending the lyrical offer to a total of eight titles. The season raises the curtain with the seventh promotion of Opera (e) Studio, the comprehensive training academy for the development of young artists, which this edition is sponsored by the European Commission within the ‘Creative Europe’ program. The title chosen for this occasion by the artistic director of the project, maestro Giulio Zappa, will be melodramma giocoso Donizetti’s, L’elisir d’amore. Next will follow Rigoletto, Verdi, and will close the first quarter a double program, concert version, Der Diktator by Krenek, and Der Kaiser von Atlantis by Ullmann. Lucrezia Borgia de Donizetti, will be the chosen title for March and will continue, under the format of Family Opera, Rinaldo de Handel. Within theprogram Opera Pocket returns the production of La traviata de Verdi, which, as in previous seasons, moves to another municipality on the island. The zarzuela The tabernera of the port of Sorozábal, and the International Opera Song Competition of Tenerife conclude this opera season.
