Lyrical Gala of Young Talents from the Reina Sofía Superior School of Music at the Teatro Mayor 

This August 29, the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo of Bogotá invites you to enjoy a lyrical recital by fellows of the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation, which is They are studying at the leading Spanish training center.

With a lyrical recital, the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo scholars, the soprano Vanessa Paola Cera and the tenor Andrés Agudelo will perform works byHenri Duparc, Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Franz Liszt, Xavier Montsalvatge and Manuel Penella Moreno, accompanied by the pianist Francis Diaz. The lyric gala will take place this Thursday, August 29 at the Studio of  Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogotá. 
The Reina Sofía Higher School of Music was created in Madrid in 1991 with the purpose of providing Spain with a high professional training center aimed at young talented musicians. The School admits students from anywhere in the world, but has a special commitment to the promotion of young people from Spain, Portugal and the Latin American area.

About the soprano Vanessa Paola Cera Bula

She was born in Barranquilla (Colombia) in 1988. She studied at the Central University of Colombia with Sarah Cullins, Camila Toro and Francis Díaz, and at the Superior School of Singing in Madrid with Hector Guerrero. She has attended master classes by Juan Tomás Martínez, César Gutierrez, Juana Lascarro, María Teresa Uribe, Eduard Jiménez and Rosa Domínguez.
She also studied vocal technique with teacher Camila Toro. In 2016 she was a finalist of the course for young lyric singers organized by the Center for Perfecting Plácido Domingo in Valencia. She has had several operatic roles, such as Dido in Dido and Aeneas; Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus; Princess and Squirrel in L’enfant et les sortileges, Magda in La Rondine; Amelia in Amelia al Ballo, Susanna and Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro; Countess in Black, the clown; and Adina in L’elisir d’Amore. In 2011 he participated in the Viva Madrid production held at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogotá under the direction of maestro Miguel Roa. She has performed at the Opera of Colombia (2012), opera workshop Universidad Central (2013) and Teatro Colón de Bogotá (2014). Since 2017 she trained with Professor Ryland Davies in the Chair of Singing “Alfredo Kraus” Ramón Areces Foundation at the Reina Sofía Higher School of Music. About the tenor Andrés Agudelo

He was born in Manizales (Colombia) in 1992. He received his first musical education through the Music Program with Emphasis on Lyric Singing at the Central University of Bogotá with professors María Teresa Uribe Reddemann, Francis Díaz and Alejandro Roca. Subsequently, he conducted a course of Adult Choral Music at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, with teachers Rosa Domínguez, Paul Triepels and Margot Modier. He also studied with Marcel Boone at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Paris. He has received master classes from Margreet Honig, Jocelyne Dienst, Reri Grist, Javier Camarena, Gerd Türk and Jeff Cohen. 
He has played various opera roles: Gaston in La Traviata; Bacolo in Il signor Fagotto; Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville; Borsa in Rigoletto; among others. He has also been a soloist of Symphony no. 9 of Beethoven with the Young Symphony of Colombia in Medellín. In 2015 he was soloist of the Choral Fantasy Beethoven, at the Colombia-Venezuela Binational Concert conducted by maestro Gustavo Dudamel. 
In 2016, he performed as a soloist in the Requiem Mozartwith the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra, directed by Patrick Fournillier. In that same year he acted as soloist in The VespersConfessor of the Mozart, with the Paris Chamber Orchestra, in the Notre-Dame Cathedral, under the direction of Arianne Matiakh. 
He sang as a guest of the French Cultural Morning of Music, obtaining excellent reviews for his interpretation of Lensky’s Ariaopera Eugene Onegin from Chaikovski’s. In 2017 he joined the newtroop Atelier Lyrique Opera Fuoco in Paris, directed by David Stern. In 2018 he participated in the Festival of Verbier in Switzerland in which he played the Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto
He is currently studying at the Reina Sofía Higher School of Music at the Alfredo Krauss Chair of the Ramón Areces Foundation with Professor Ryland Davies.
