Teatro del Bicentenario Roberto Plasencia Saldaña presents the first part of its lyrical season 2020

The Guanajuato stage celebrates 10 years of operation and during the next months will celebrate the fifth anniversary of Opera Picnic with the screening of 3 opera titles, and the replacement of his production of El Barbero de Sevilla, by Gioachino Rossini. 

 

Teatro del Bicentenario Roberto Plasencia Saldaña, of the Guanajuato Cultural Forum presents an advance of the lyrical activity season of the first half of 2020, the year in which it is celebrating a decade of being one of the best spaces for the performing arts of the country.

 

From Thursday, April 16 to Saturday, April 18, it will celebrate the fifth edition of Opera Picnic, a program that offers a different way of enjoying lyric singing through large-scale screenings in the adjacent gardens of the theater; as every year, the public can enjoy three operatic titles, of which two are own productions of Teatro del Bicentenario Roberto Plasencia Saldaña and one more will be a title of an Ibero-American opera house, in this case, the Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires. This activity aims to bring the Guanajuato families closer to the operatic genre in an uninhibited and playful way so that they can enjoy and appreciate the lyrical song.

 

 

On Sunday 17, Wednesday 20 and Saturday 23 May, he will present, in replacement, his operatic production of Il barbiere di Siviglia, by Gioachino Rossini, with which he will celebrate ten years of producing opera in Mexico. In this assembly, the protagonists will be in charge of two great Mexican singers, on the one hand, in the role of Rossina participates the mezzo-soprano Guadalupe Paz, possessing an exceptional timbre and as Figaro, the talented baritone Juan Carlos Heredia.
